Criminals Pose As Fire Inspectors In Everett Recently a criminal or group of criminals have been claiming they are Everett Fire Department Fire Inspectors and using that claim to gain entry into people's homes to commit burglary. The victims have been primarily Everett's senior residents. Please know how to spot the real thing: Everett Firefighters and Fire Inspectors will always appear in full uniform, including a badge. Everett Firefighters and Fire Inspectors will always carry city-issued picture identification stating their name and position within the Fire Department. Everett Firefighters and Fire Inspectors will never insist on entry into your home, unless there is a true emergency, in which case there will be fire trucks and/or police officers outside. Everett Firefighters and Fire Inspectors do not perform annual fire inspections of residences. Annual fire inspections of businesses are conducted by uniformed firefighters or Fire Inspectors driving City of Everett vehicles. Firefighters and Fire Inspectors will never insist on entry into an occupancy without a duly-obtained warrant and accompaniment by a police officer. If you have any doubts about an individual whatsoever, you may always call 911 for help identifying the individual(s) at your door. NEVER allow unidentified individuals into your home!
